Celebrate Independence Day in Davidson:
Join us for a Fourth of July parade and concert
Citizens are invited to celebrate our nation's independence with a homespun, downtown parade and a concert on the green on Saturday, the Fourth of July. The parade will include a color guard, fire engine, and lots of patriotic residents.
Parade marchers are asked to line up at McEver Field on South Street at 5:15 p.m., and the festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. All citizens are encouraged to march in the parade dressed in Independence Day attire and to decorate their wagons, bicycles, tricycles and pets in red, white and blue. A color guard comprised of members of the police and fire departments will lead the parade up South Street onto Main Street and onto the town green.
"This is a fun way for our entire community to come together and show our Davidson spirit," said Economic Development Manager Kim Fleming. "We're excited to add a concert on the green to our festivities for the holiday."
The concert begins at 6:00 p.m. and features Pushh with music of the 80s, 90s and today. This impressive five-piece group gives audiences of all ages a fun, high energy, entertaining show featuring the hits of yesterday and today. Their show is full of a variety of danceable songs the entire family will enjoy by such artists as Rick Springfield, Wild Cherry, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Train, Matchbox 20, Kenny Loggins, and many more. “With magical four part harmonies, great memorable songs, and an entertaining show suitable for all ages, Pushh will entertain our concertgoers,” said Tina Gibson of Imagine Music Group.

"We hope to see neighbors from all over the community -- from the Circles at 30 all the way to the ETJ -- in the parade and on the green to hear some fun music," said Fleming.
