“Bouquet for Davidson” Sculpture Improvement Coming Soon

The “Bouquet for Davidson” sculpture in the post office plaza will be getting a facelift, beginning this weekend, so citizens are asked to proceed with caution when passing by. It will take approximately three days to remove rust on the sculpture and re-patinize it with a burnt umber pigmented wax.

“The Davidson Public Art Commission is pleased that the ‘Bouquet for Davidson’ will be free of rust and sharp edges, will have a dark luster, and will be protected from further rust in the future,” said Asst. Town Manager Dawn Blobaum.

“Bouquet for Davidson” was created by artist Andrew Dunhill in 2009 and was the Davidson Public Art Commission’s first project.
