Join DPR in July

4th of July in Davidson

There are no fireworks in Davidson, but citizens are invited to celebrate our nation’s independence with a patriotic stroll along South Street to the town green and a concert on the green on Wednesday, July 4. The parade will include a color guard, a fire engine, and lots of patriotic residents.

Stroll participants are asked to line up on Wednesday, July 4 at McEver Field on South Street at 5:15 p.m., and the festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. All citizens are encouraged to walk dressed in Independence Day attire and to decorate their wagons, bicycles, tricycles, and pets in red, white, and blue. A color guard comprised of members of the police and fire departments will lead the stroll up South Street onto Main Street and onto the town green.
