Roosevelt Wilson Public Input Session
The Davidson Parks and Recreation invites citizens to Roosevelt Wilson Park, located at 420 Griffith Street, on Saturday, October 28 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to provide input on new active play features and celebrate the opening of the new children's amphitheater.

Citizen CPR

The American Red Cross Citizen CPR course is designed to teach untrained bystanders how to perform hands-only CPR. Having more citizens trained in this simple skill can help save lives by putting more cardiac arrest victims within a few steps of lifesaving assistance. This is a non-certification course.

Adventurer Club

Preschoolers enjoy time spent outside exploring the environment and learning about nature in this daily program. Indoor art, games and other activities will be included when temperatures drop. You may choose any combination of days (as available) from once a week to daily. Program dates will follow the Davidson Green School schedule. Ages 3 - 5.

Davidson Family Kickball Tournament

Sign up as a team (10 - 14 players) or an individual to take part in the inaugural Davidson Parks and Recreation Kickball tournament held at the McEver Ball Fields.

Fabric Coverings for Furniture

Join Patricia Wasylyna for this one night program to learn how to cover your favorite chairs, couches, tables and desks with fabric. Participants can bring wooden and fabric furniture pieces or simply partake in the class to learn how to turn something old into sometime new! Elmer’s glue, a small bucket for water and scissors are required. Ages 18 and older.

Stress Busters Lunch and Learn

Stress is harmful. Traditional thinking states that enormous amounts of stress create negative places in people’s lives. This workshop addresses a new way of thinking. We learn to employ the feeling of stress, fine-tune it, and use it as a skill to activate and enhance your own personal vitality. We teach you that stress is body’s own voltage, which you can transform into a personal motivator. Ages 18 and older.

Bookman Bright-David Hedges

Social Security and Medicare

Learn the strategies and the methods needed to claim your Social Security and how to receive your maximum benefit amount based on your needs and tax considerations. Also, you will learn about filing for Medicare and how to choose the right Medicare Supplement, Advantage and/or Part D plan. This session program taught by David Hedges of Bookman Bright Tax & Consulting will include an interactive workbook as well as a customized Social Security claiming report.

How to Pay for College

Learn how to match the best college with the needs of your son or daughter and pay for it with as little of your own money as possible. David Hedges will discuss strategies to use and opportunities for college selection, financial preparation for college, and tools and resources readily available to you that can make the college decision process easier and less expensive. Couple rate is per household. Sandwiches and refreshments will be provided.
