MI-Connection Upgrades Itself to Continuum


Today, town-owned communications company, MI-Connection, is excited to unveil their new company name, Continuum. The new name, brand identity and marketing campaign created by local business consultants David and Kelly Sopp (a dave and kelly project), have been an 18-month process of researching customer needs and wants, and identifying the company’s core strengths and unique value in the marketplace. The name Continuum was chosen to represent the company’s broad range of video, Internet and voice services while also being inclusive of future technologies. “We don’t just provide Internet, video and voice,” says Ellen Baker, Continuum Marketing Director. “We provide a continuous link between work and play, news and entertainment, family and co-workers, local issues and world events. Never at any time in history have the lines between these things been so blurred, and connectivity been so important.”
 
“This isn’t just a name change,” said CEO David Auger. “We’ve made fundamental changes to build on our strengths and improve on prior weaknesses. It’s a very different company today. And the new brand reflects our renewed commitment to excellence in serving our customers.” Continuum has invested in new video technologies, broadband speeds and customizable business solutions. The employees met together and created a “Customer Happiness Guarantee” which includes, among other things, on-time appointments (or they make it right with a $20 credit on your bill). The new marketing campaign proudly touts the company’s team of local customer care reps and service technicians who promise to “treat you like a neighbor, not an account number.”  Local residential and business customers are featured in the advertising too.
 
Continuum’s research revealed that people really do care about supporting a local company. “Because they only serve Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius, they can focus on us and not the rest of the country,” said customer Kim Saragoni. A new company tagline was also unveiled:  Local. Limitless.  “It lets folks know that we’re proud to be from here, and there’s nothing we can’t do,” said Ellen Baker.
Speaking of limitless, there are several big announcements planned for this year. “I can’t tell you just yet,” said Auger. “But I can tell you that I’m very excited to be a part of what is coming.”
