We will immerse ourselves in our local environment, learning about nature and human innovation, with the goal of preserving natural resources through creativity, art, science, and problem-solving. Can we figure out where our runoff water goes? Identify a nearby wetland that needs protection? Eradicate invasive plants to increase ecosystem biodiversity? Yes! Let's take what we learn and come up with new ways to make our future greener. Grades 2nd – 5th.

Participants will write several original short stories through the use of games, activities, crafts, art and lots of laughs. Each student will leave with a bound book of their stories and illustrations to treasure. This curriculum will emphasize writing techniques such as character development, setting, and plot. Grades 1st - 4th.

Time: 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Come learn the fast-paced and exciting sport of Olympic Fencing. Students learn footwork, basic blade work and some of the tactics involved in fencing. Students get to try out their newly learned skills by bouting against each other. All equipment is provided by the Charlotte Fencing Academy. This class is designed for beginning and returning students alike. Ages 8 - 16.
