Join Us to Congratulate Police Chief Jeanne Miller on her Retirement

Reception on June 13 at Davidson Town Hall

Please join us on Tuesday, June 13 for a reception from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Davidson Town Hall to thank Police Chief Miller for her service to the Town of Davidson and to wish her well as she retires on June 30, 2017. She has served our town for over 11 years and has been in the field of law enforcement for almost 44 years.

Chief Miller came to Davidson after serving as chief of the Reynoldsburg (OH) Police Department from 1994 and 2005. Prior to that, she worked as Assistant Chief of Operations for the Peoria (IL) Police Department from 1992 to 1994.  She began her career with the Detroit (MI) PD in 1973, rising through the ranks to lieutenant prior to leaving in 1991.

We are grateful for Jeanne’s service to the Davidson Police Department and town. Under her leadership, the department was certified by CALEA (the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) in 2011, verifying that it meets the commission’s professional standards. She recently completed leading the department through the re-accreditation process.  Additional accomplishments during her tenure include: improving public safety services, increasing the department’s commitment to community policing, pioneering the North Carolina League of Municipalities’ first law enforcement risk review process, serving on many panels representing the town and the law enforcement profession, and helping grow the department to meet the needs of our citizens and community.

“Chief Miller has made a big impression on our town and we thank her for her service,” said Town Manager Jamie Justice. ‘We hope you’ll join us on June 13 to congratulate Jeanne on her retirement.”

An acknowledgement of her work for the town will be the first item on the June 13 agenda at the Davidson Board of Commissioners’ 6:00 p.m. meeting following the reception.
