The focus of the 6:00 p.m. meeting will be the Rural Area Plan and the proposed rezonings and text changes to the Davidson Planning Ordinance. The Davidson Board of Commissioners heard from many citizens at the January 10 public hearing and want to respond to the questions at their meeting on January 24. These questions have been documented and answered in a “Frequently Asked Questions” document that can be found on our website at www.townofdavidson.org/RuralAreaPlan.

“In order to preserve open space and manage growth, the Rural Area Plan recommendations must be implemented by rezoning and making changes to the Davidson Planning Ordinance,” said Davidson Mayor John Woods. “As more people learn about this plan, they realize that the goal here is to safeguard our community by managing development – approving the rezonings and text changes make the vision outlined in the Rural Area Plan legally enforceable.”
