Afterschool Science

Participants will join Debbie Davidson for a fun and engaging hour of science exploration. Learn science content through hands-on fun. Discover the physics of magnetism and electricity, lights and lasers, exploding volcanoes, rocks and minerals, chemistry of water, diversity of animals, and more. Grades 2-5.

Adventurer Club: Preschool

Preschoolers enjoy time spent outside exploring the environment and learning about nature in this daily program. Indoor art, games, and other activities will be included when temperatures drop. You may choose any combination of days from once a week to daily (as available). Program dates will follow the Davidson Green School schedule and will be available on a first come/first reserved basis.

Cultivating Peach Through Creative Practice

Give yourself a peaceful beginning to the new year. Retreat, reflect, renew, and relax. Together we will create a SoulCollage® card introducing you to a simple creative practice that nurtures intuition and mindfulness. SoulCollage® is a gentle playful art form consisting of mindfully selecting images to cut and paste onto a 5 x 8-inch card followed by reflective journaling. Discover your inner wisdom…change your world through mindful creativity in the New Year. Led by Karen Perrell Campbell, Creative Depth Coach, Founder of Seeds for Change Creative SoulCraft.

Reducing Taxes in Retirement

This two week course will teach you how to generate tax free Income in your retirement. You’ll also learn simple and effective methods of reducing your income tax on your investment portfolio. Fee is per individual OR per household (no more than two per household for the group rate). An interactive workbook, sandwiches and light refreshments will be provided.

Join Paloma Sanchez in this language integration course designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of the Spanish vocabulary. Learn how to greet and engage with people, to ask basic questions, phonetics, and so much more all while speaking, reading, writing, listening, and translating in Spanish! You will have fun as soon as you are in! English/Spanish dictionary included.

Glorie Boxing

Join the empowering sport of boxing! Building self-esteem is about staying positive and taking productive steps toward reaching your goals. This opportunity provides an exercise regimen for building confidence. Learning how to box works to stimulate the mind and release stress by establishing a positive connection between the body and the brain. Skills are taught in a controlled environment allowing you to channel your frustrations; i.e. punching drills and combinations, jump rope, shadowboxing, and sparring.
With patience and practice, focus and discipline can transfer over to other sports and activities reducing anxiety and stress. Taught by ‘Coach K’ Curtis Kindell and Tara Meador. Master the techniques and leave calm and relaxed, ready to attack whatever life throws at you next.
Classes start at the beginning of each month.

Oil Painting with Judith Brown

All skill levels are welcomed! Join us for an exciting experience painting with oils. This class will explore the use of color as well as traditional and contrary materials and techniques. Let's paint! Please bring a photo or a muse of something you wish to paint. Instructor Judith Brown earned her BFA from the University of Denver as well as her MFA from the University of Wyoming and has taught art professionally for more than 30 years. Classes start at the beginning of each month.

Chair Caning

Learn the old-world craft of weaving bamboo strips into a beautiful and strong work of art from artist Patricia Wasylyna. Create comfortable seating and backing for an open- framed chair or stool. You will need to bring a chair or stool with you to all classes. Call 704-892-3349 if you are unable to obtain a chair or stool. All participants must bring sharp scissors and a small bucket or water pail to each class. Ages 18 and older.
