The Parenting Journey

Does your child struggle with anxiety? Get overwhelmed easily? Find it difficult to handle stressful situations? Join Camille Wilson, MA, NCC, BCC, LPCS, experienced counselor and board-certified parenting coach, in this two-part workshop designed to help parents help their kids. You will gain important knowledge about stress and its effects on children as well as learn how to help your kids cope with anxiety. Fee includes class materials and valuable coaching specifically designed to help you create a Toolkit of strategies which you can use to help build resilience in your kids. Attendees will also receive a special discount for a follow-up coaching consultation.

Modern Manners for Successful Kids

In this fun and interactive session, children will learn polite table manners, confident introduction skills, telephone etiquette, and how to show respect and kindness to peers and adults. Children will be entertained and engaged as they learn the essentials of social skills that will help them for a lifetime. Guardians are invited to attend the last 15 minutes of the class to see their children demonstrate their new manners and learn tips for reinforcing these great manners at home.

Bike Clinic - FREE

Ready, set, ride! To make cycling safer and more fun, local experts will be on-hand to educate young riders. Children, ages 5-12, can bring a bike and helmet to participate in training stations where they learn about and practice safe bicycling skills. This program is offered in partnership with the NC Active Routes to School program, Mecklenburg County Safe Routes to School, and the Town of Davidson Police Department. This is a CMS school early release day.

Understanding Medicare

What is Medicare and how does it affect me? How do I maximize the benefits of my Medicare coverage? These questions and more will be answered with David Hedges of Bookman Bright Consulting during this three-session program. An interactive workbook, sandwiches, and light refreshments will be provided.

Pre-Summer Preschool Camps

The older kids are still in school and your preschooler is already bored. Send him/her to play with us while you prepare for the summer. Art, music, science, games, and a lot of fun are waiting. Please dress for mess and pack a lunch each day! Ages 3-6

School is almost out which means that summer is just around the corner.  Have you signed your child(ren) up for summer camps yet? If not, join the Davidson Parks and Recreation for summer camps. We offer a variety of camps for ages 3 - 17.  Register now, spaces are limited and some camps are already full.
