Naturopathic Wellness: Gut and Movement

Join Dr. Lexi Lain for her second lecture in the Naturopathic Approach to Wellness series, as she discusses the gut and all things related to movement. From the health of our bowel movements to the movement of our circulation and lymphatic system, a state of well-being allows for the free-flowing of energy through our cells and life. This class will offer ways to keep our guts healthy and how to incorporate movement into our lives of stagnation, clutter, and at times, chaos.

Blues 101

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play blues guitar like the greats? Do you already play blues guitar but want to expand your blues vocabulary even further? This four-week course is just what you need to take your blues playing to the next level. We will cover various topics and analyze some famous blues licks created by the greats, so you can incorporate them into your playing immediately.

Maximizing Your Social Security with David Hedges

Learn the strategies and the logistics needed to claim your Social Security and how to receive your maximum benefit amount based on your needs. These programs, taught by David Hedges of Bookman Bright Consulting, include an interactive workbook and customized Social Security claim report. Couples rate is per household. Sandwiches and light refreshments will be provided.

Field Hockey Clinic - FREE

Davidson College Field Hockey and Ambush Field Hockey with Julie Gibbons have created this program to teach a passion for field hockey in a fun-loving environment. The goal is to teach skill, vision, and understanding of the sport in a positive atmosphere. No experience necessary. Shin guards and mouth guards are required. Cleats are recommended, but not required. Sticks will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own.

Spring Break Camps

Go Go Clay Camp

Kids will learn basic ceramics hand building techniques, decorating styles, and all things clay. Classes will include stories about artists, some fresh-air play and snack time. Please allow two weeks’ turnaround time for projects.
Time:         9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grade:       K - 5

Creative Writing in Nature

Through games and engaging activities, the staff of the Young Writers Academy will guide campers through the key elements of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction inspired by the animals and plants discovered on their daily hikes. Students will leave with a bound book of their creative work devoted to their outdoor discoveries.
Time:          1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Grade:         2nd - 5th

Trip to the NC Music Hall of Fame

This trip will be to close-by Kannapolis to visit and learn about the music of North Carolina at the Music Hall of Fame. After touring the museum, we will stop for lunch at Restaurant 46, named for the number of chromosomes in the human body and is located across from the NC Research Campus.
