Parks and Recreation Newest Member, The ELF
Coming soon to the streets of Davidson!  Parks and Recreation has an exciting new mode of transportation, the ELF (Electric, Light, Fun)!  The ELF is a recumbent electric bike with an outer covering and is made by Organic Transit located in Durham, NC.

Preschool Adventurer Club

Preschoolers enjoy time spent outside exploring the environment and learning about nature in this daily program. Indoor art, games, and other activities will be included when temperatures drop. You may choose any combination of days from once a week to daily (as available). Program dates will follow the Davidson Green School schedule and will be available on a first come/first reserved basis.


Watercolor with Judith Brown
Registration Deadline: January 6

Let’s paint! This class will concentrate on using transparent techniques to create luminous and vibrant paintings. All skill levels are welcome. Judith Brown has extensive experience and education in multiple art media. In her class, you can expect to learn color theory and how to make any color using only four tubes of paint, and make beautiful watercolor art from start to finish.

Sewing - Registration Deadline: January 11

You already know the basics, so grab your sewing machine and learn some fun new techniques. Learn to set zippers, buttons, sleeves, and refine that intricate pattern you’ve always wanted to try out. This class is taught by longtime seamstress Katie Chichester of Hancock Fabrics.  We're offering a morning session and an evening session.

Book'd - Therapeutic Recreation Book Club for Teens

Let’s read! Join us weekly on Friday evenings to read and discuss a popular Teen fiction book. Each reader will be encouraged to read aloud for their peers and participate in discussions. The program will start on January 15 and end March 18. The cost for each reader is $10 and readers of all abilities are welcome! Chair Caning - Registration Deadline is January 11

Learn the old-world craft of weaving bamboo strips into a beautiful and strong work of art. Create comfortable seating and backing for an open framed chair or stool. You will need to bring a chair or stool with you to all classes. Please contact our staff if you are unable to obtain a chair or stool. All participants must bring sharp scissors and a small bucket or water pail to each class. Ages 18 and older.
