May is Mental Health Month, Bike Month, and More!

Bike Month Graphic

May is Bike Month

Today is the start of National Bike Month! Join us in celebrating and riding your bike throughout the month. Bicycling is now more essential to our lives than ever, as it can boost our mental well-being, too. We hope you will participate in Bike Month through virtual events and bike rides while safely distanced this May and beyond. Let’s use National Bike Month to get outside and appreciate the physical and mental health benefits biking brings us. Learn more here.

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Month

Mental Health Awareness Month (also referred to as "Mental Health Month") has been observed in May in the United States since 1949, reaching millions of people in the United States through the media, local events, and screenings. We hope you’ll join the Town of Davidson as we observe Mental Health Month. Throughout the month, the town will send information through social media and will hold virtual events and classes in partnership with Davidson LifeLine. For more information, visit the town’s Mental Health Month page here.

Input Wanted on Beaty Park Schematic Plan Update

Community members are invited to provide feedback on the next phase of the Beaty Park Project. The Town of Davidson is working with the Dodd Studio to complete the detailed construction phase of the park. The Dodd Studio has created a schematic design using the approved conceptual plan as the guiding document on citizen expectations while further studying the property’s topography, natural elements, and the property’s conservation easement requirements.

Please click here to watch a narrated video of the schematic plan and complete the survey. Your input is very valued and will help us in applying for grant funding.

Park Updates

The parking lots at Abersham and Fisher Farm are now open to vehicular traffic and the Plum Creek tennis courts are now open for individual play. USTA has put out some guidelines that players should adhere to using. Click here to see the guidelines.

When using any park or greenway in town, please continue to practice physical/social distancing. Click here for more information on the guidelines of physical/social distancing.
