Davidson Town Center Development Plan

Details
The Davidson Town Center Development Plan was adopted in 2000. The plan is a strategic assessment of the needs for economic viability of development in the downtown. The recommendations in part were to:
  • Encourage land use, transportation planning, and development strategies that leverage existing uses and which create economic synergies
  • Use Davidson's competitive position and value of its town center's "brand equity" to attract and retain economic drivers (employers, workers, residents, and visitors)
  • Expand the town center's employment base and tax base by stimulating office development in response to market demand
  • Expand the town center's role as a retail destination serving the needs of the Davidson resident
  • Strengthen the town center's role as a "24-hour community" by expanding housing opportunities within the core area
